Doggies & Divas Event -- Saturday August 20th, 2011
Save the date (October 8, 2011) so you can attend this years Doggies & Divas Luncheon & Fashion Show. All are invited to this fun luncheon & fashion event which features rescue dogs "walking the runway" in colorful Masquerade parade costumes designed by Brenda Mack of Bark Avenue. Area boutiques such as Cha Cha's, Diva's, Hoopla's, She She's and Doncaster will provide fashions for the ladies. In addition to the lunch and fashion show there will also be a silent auction, live auction and a gift-certificate restaurant tree. Activities begin at 11:00 am. Adoption Update -- Wednesday December 29th, 2010
Two of our rescue pets went to their new homes in time for Christmas. Our little doggie Holly was adopted on 12/18/10 and one of our sweet bottle fed kitties from last summer Jet was adopted on 12/21/10. A great big Paws Up goes out to their new parents for adopting a rescue pet!
New Intakes -- Wednesday December 1st, 2010
We have another new addition to our adoptable rescue pets. His name is Butter and he is a Yellow Lab mix that is about 8 months old. He had a great home where is was loved and well cared for but his owner was killed in a car accident so now he is in need of a new home. He has been moved to one of our foster homes for now. Check him out on our website and spread the word to anyone you know who is looking for a new pet.
Adoption Update -- Wednesday November 24th, 2010
Great news our little Taco Bell was adopted and went to his new home today. We want to give a Big Paws Up to Taco's new mom for adopting one of our rescue pets.
Santa Photos -- Tuesday November 16th, 2010
Come and have your pets picture taken with Santa at Different Strokes Pet Boutique in Old Town Spring, TX on Saturday, 12/4/10 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or on Sunday, December 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Our sweet little Shih Tzu mix pups Buffy and Muffy got adopted together today and went to their new home. A big Paws Up goes out to their new parents for adopting rescue pets!
New Intakes -- Saturday November 6th, 2010
We welcome three new homeless rescue pets to our group. They are Holly, Buckie and Gracie. They are not ready for adoption yet but will be soon so go check them out on our pet list page when you get a chance and let anyone you know looking for a new pet we have a lot of adoptable rescue pets looking for new homes.

Our little adorable Scruffy went to his new forever home today. We all give Scruffy's new mom a BIG PAWS UP for adopting a rescue pet.
PETFEST EVENT -- Saturday October 23rd, 2010
The pictures and video from our successful PETFEST Event this past Sat. and Sunday have been put up on the website. The pictures and the video are great and we want to thank Keke and Judy for all their hard work in getting the pictures and video for us so we can share the event with those that were not able to attend.

Dapper Dogs on the Runway -- Saturday October 16th, 2010
All the pictures from our Dapper Dogs on the Runway event that we hosted at Conroe Petco on 10/16/10 have been added to the Photo Gallery on our website. You need to go and check out the pictures we had some great dogs in our community that came out to strutt their stuff on the runway as well as three of our adoptable pets (Scooter, Bebe and Faith).

Christmas Gift Donations -- Friday December 25th, 2009
We had several children who asked us to come to their birthday parties in December and asked their friends to bring Christmas gifts for our rescue pets instead of a gift for them. We also had a couple of girls who bought and collected Christmas gifts for our rescue pets. Please see our Photo Gallery for more pictures of these events and all the great donations we got for our rescue pets. Every rescue pets stocking was overflowing with gifts thanks to the kindness of these wonderful children.
Connor Duncan's Birthday -- Saturday December 12th, 2009
Connor Duncan had his 7th birthday and at his party he asked his friends to bring presents for our rescue pets instead of getting him a present. Our rescue pets got a lot of gifts and money donations to help with their Vet care. We all want to thank Connor and his parents for their kindness and help. Happy 7th birthday Connor.
Leah's Birthday -- Saturday December 12th, 2009
Henric's daughter Leah had a birthday party on Saturday 12/12 and she decided to ask her friends to donate funds to our rescue organization instead of giving gifts. Her parents took advantage of our Humane Education Program and asked us to come to the party to collect the funds and present a couple of our Humane Education programs. We did a presentation on the importance of having your pets spayed or neutered and used lots of stuffed animals for the presentation to show what happens if you do not get your pets spayed or neutered. The children had a great time helping to clear a path for the birthday girl Leah to be able to get out of the puppy pen after all of the stuffed animals had been added to it to represent how many dogs you would have in just one year from one unspayed female dog. We also did a Dog Bite Prevention presentation that included games for the children and taught them how to be safe around dogs. The children all had a great time and said they understood now why it is so impotant to have their pets spayed or neutered. We also took one of our rescue puppies Saidie so the children could visit with her at the end of the program. Wine Fest -- Saturday November 7th, 2009
We had four volunteers (Terri Grassbaugh, Barbie Benton, Sheila Faye & Nancy Alegert) that set up and manned our tent at the Montgomery County Wine Fest in Montgomery, Texas. The event was a lot of fun and we got to show off some of our rescue pets. We had two sets of kittens (Jet, Tabbitha, Buddie & Bootsy) and 2 dogs (LouLou & Prissy) that attended the event. Blessing of the Animals -- Saturday September 19th, 2009
The pets and people alike all had a great time at this years Blessing of the Animals. We had Sue with the Conroe Petco Grooming Department come out and help us man our table. She offered toenail trims for all the 4 legged friends for a $5.00 donation to our organization. She also did toenail trims for free for rescue pets attending with other rescue groups. We took a few of our special needs rescue pets so they could be blessed and we all enjoyed the event. Please click on our Photo Gallery and take a look at pictures taken at the event. Success - D&D Event -- Saturday September 12th, 2009
Our Diva's & Doggies Event was a huge success and we raised over $10,000.00 to help our rescue pets. We have posted a lot of the pictures in our Photo Gallery so you can all see what a great time we had. We want to thank all those that attended and all that donated auction items and their time to help this event the great success it was. You have all helped to save so many lives.
Humane Education Program -- Monday June 1st, 2009
GREAT NEWS!! We have added a Humane Education Program to our services. We will be happy to go to your facility and give classes, lectures, etc on humane treatment and care of domestic pets. These are great for children and adults. We can bring all sorts of domestic pets and farm animals, or not, depending on what you need and to whom we are presenting. We talk about everything from raising a healthy puppy/kitten to introducing an older dog/cat to your home, to some behavior modification ideas and helpful hints. It has worked very well at local schools, churches and day care centers. If you are interested and would like us to come to your facility, please call or email. There is no charge for this service but in the past the kids have had a lot of fun raising money and collecting donations/pet food/detergents, etc the week before we are scheduled to be there. They take great pleasure in presenting us with what they have collected. It makes them feel really good to support such a worthwhile cause and helps teach them the importance of compassion and supporting charities. Please get your pets spayed/neutered. There is no way we could ever take in the amount of domestic pets that we are asked to. It's just overwhelming.
